Today, finding used billiard tables on the internet can be on of the easiest things to do. With a simple word search of used tables, a person can find hundreds of sites that cater to the used pool table market. And although this may be the most convenient way to search for a table, it sometimes can’t compare to actually visiting billiard outlets and stores and looking at the table in person. When dealing with the purchase of a used table, a buyer needs to closely examine the table looking for any scratches, nixes, or dents that may or may not be easily seen from pictures that are posted on the internet. Usually the best way to search for a table is to look on sites that break down the demographics into your specific area and once a table catches your eye, go inspect it in person.

Finding a quality used table can be one of the hardest tasks a buyer can encounter. A serious billiards player that is interested in investing in a table for his home should only stick to name brand tables that have proven their quality through the test of time. For example, a billiard table made by Brunswick can last for decades if properly taken care of. However, when buying a used table, even if it is from a reputable manufacturer, it is still important to examine the table in person. When looking at a table, buyers should not only look for obvious blemishes such as scratches and scuffs of the table or cloth but also the actual foundation of the table. Check to see if the table has the any signs of having replacement parts such as rails, cloth, table slate, or wooden cross supports. If a table has had any replacement work done to it by a professional billiard table repair expert it may be very hard to spot the work, especially if they used original factory parts. However, if a table does have the appearance of repair work on it then it may be a sign that a someone completed the repair that may not be an expert, therefore, reducing the quality of the table. This is why it’s so important that when looking at used billiard tables, a buyer should inspect it in person.
